We'd Love to Photograph Your Dog!

Booking a Portrait Session

We offer our dog portraits in many cities across the United States throughout the year. Please view our National Dog Photography schedule. If we will be in your area in the next few months, you can easily reserve a time for your dog's photography with a deposit on your session.

If you live within traveling distance of our studio in Manchester, Vermont you can contact us, or call 802-362-7500 to schedule a studio portrait of your dog. You can also see a map of our location.

The fee for a portrait is $1500.00 and includes my lighting and photography of your dog, proofs either online or on CD and a beautiful, permanently finished canvas print of your favorite pose up to 20" x 30" (or larger if you have the room for it). You may bring two dogs if you would like them photographed together. (If you would like individual portraits of more than one dog the price is $1500.00 per dog.)

A $250.00 deposit is needed to book your session. The deposit is refundable up to 10 days prior to your appointment for photography. Your balance is due at the time of the portrait session. You may pay your deposit by check or with a credit card.

Your Portrait Session
After you and your dog arrive, we ask that you take some time to accustom him to the studio until he feels comfortable in the space. You will then lead him onto the backdrop and begin to pose him with our help.

We look for a number of angles to photograph the dog in standing, sitting and reclining poses. We'll make sure he looks his very best!

We generally shoot about 100 to 150 pictures which you will see during the session. If you feel that your dog's personality isn't quite there yet, we shoot another batch until the true nature of your pet had been captured and you have many pictures to make your choice from.

Finishing Your Canvas Portrait
After you see your proofs (about a week to 10 days) you can take your time choosing the perfect one for us to finish and print. Once we know your preference we spend many hours adjusting the background and contrast to compliment your dog. We also crop the portrait to show him off at his best.

We then email you a finished proof for approval. Once you are happy with the proof, the portrait is sized to fit the space where you will display it. We then make the print on the finest cotton canvas and ship it to you for stretching and framing to fit your taste and decor. We work with an excellent local framer and can offer framing suggestions to you.

Additional Poses
You may order paper prints of additional poses of your dog from our online store.
